Proud! UMJ Students Take Part in the Asian Games Championship in China.

 Another proud achievement came from a Sports Education student from the Faculty of Education, Muhammadiyah University of Jakarta (POR FIP UMJ), Wahyu Setiawan, representing Indonesia taking part in the 19th Asian Games championship in the 4×100 meter athletics sport, which will be held in Hangzhou, China, on (02 /10/ 2023).


When interviewed, Wahyu said that he was chosen to take part in the Asian Games championship because he had succeeded in winning a gold medal in the 2023 Sea Games championship in Cambodia. Before taking part in the championship, Wahyu had prepared himself by attending a training camp which took place in China for almost three months.

Wahyu admitted that he was very happy and proud to be a participant in the Asian Games international championship. "Of course I am very happy because it brings the country's name and is an international event. I hope to win the championship in this Asian Games," said Wahyu.

Responding to this, the Chair of the FIP UMJ Sports Education Study Program, Dr. Doby Parlindungan, M.Pd., expressed his pride in Wahyu's achievements. "Thank God, our students from POR FIP UMJ on behalf of Wahyu took part in the Asean Games championship in China. This is a gift and blessing for the Muhammadiyah organization because UMJ students are able to take part in the international arena. Taking part in relay sports, of course this is a sport that has great opportunities. "I hope Wahyu can win and make UMJ proud," concluded Dobby.

Wahyu is a student with many achievements who has participated in various national and international championships, one of which was the 2023 National Athletics Championship which was held at the Sriwedari Stadium, Solo, Wahyu succeeded in winning a gold medal.
